I found this pretty hibiscus brooch in Mom's stash of vintage/costume jewels. I mixed it up with vintage costume chain, light-blue glass beads and snow quartz and VOILA! A pretty summer accessory was born.....

I've decided to join in on the fun and created a YART SALE section in my shop over at Etsy. I've marked some necklaces WAY down for the sale!

Speaking of deals, did you know that every Wednesday you can go to the Maine Team blog and see what weekend sales our Maine Team artists are having?? There are some seriously-super finds to be had!

My newest article, "The Very Green Artist" is up at Indie Public!
The first Sunday of every month I write a new article for my column, "She Dreams of Art", where it is hosted by the fabulous Indie Public!
Each month I feature FOUR talented artists. This month I talked with artists who create with a very green concept. Here's a little sneak peek of Maine artist Julia Ventresco's recycled tote bags.

Just imagine going to market toting one of these colorful babies slung over your shoulder! To see more of these GREEN artists follow the link here.
YOU CAN HELP! By commenting in the thread below the article
it will keep the article at the top on the front page of Indie Public. This will give these fine artists the exposure they deserve! AND, maybe one day you'll be a featured artist at Indie Public's "She Dreams of Art"!
Hope you'll pop over and say hello!!
PS...if you're not a member of Indie Public, isn't it time?
I am addicted to drawer pulls. They are, perhaps, my most favorite "found object" to work with. There seems to be a drawer pull for anything I want to make. I love how the pull, the crystal and the owl become one!

Spring Craft Show featuring artists from the Etsy Maine Team
April showers bring Mayflowers. And what do Mayflowers bring? Why, the Etsy Maine Team and a Spring Craft Show that celebrates all that is handmade. On Saturday, May 30 from 10:00 to 3:00, over 25 sellers from the Etsy Maine Team will offer a hand-crafted shopping experience at Freeport Community Center, 53 Depot Road in Freeport, Maine.
This artistic gathering will have a fresh, eclectic mix of fiber/cloth arts, ceramics, jewelry, prints, original art, children’s items, and other handmade delights sure to tickle a shoppers fancy. Enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee or tea while you browse unique items and meet the talented artists who create with Maine as their inspirational backdrop. And with free admission, complimentary refreshments, and oodles of parking, who could resist?
The Etsy Maine Team is comprised of over 300 gifted members who demonstrate the best of the artistic community. Fiber arts, ceramics, fine art, jewelry, kids stuff, and vintage are just a small representation of what we create and sell. From the traditional to the trendy, you will find it in in the Etsy Maine Team.
Yesterday we had our first Etsy Maine Team meeting of the season in lovely little downtown Richmond, that sits on the Kennebec River at Joselyn's digs, The Blue Moose.
It was a great way to spend the day, and talk about art, promoting, shows, photographing our products and more. Jen our new co-captain, along with Kellie our other co-captain lead a great meeting and I think we were able to all learn a little something. Everyone brought munchies, and their own art to share, purchase and trade.
But what made it extra special was having the meeting at Joselyn's shop! What better way to spend the day focusing on our art, but to be in a shop-filled artsy location! She cleared the middle of the room and gathered chairs and couches that I imagine she uses as displays in this eclectic little heaven. She set up a table for all of our yummies, and another to display our work. SO much better then some random restaurant....what a lucky bunch we are!
I was so inspired by her various displays, the vivid colors and just the hominess of it all! So, I took photos to share.....

I don't think I need to tell you, but I will, it's worth the drive!
I have been digging through the top floor of the barn, and I still have some cases of collectibles left from the old antique days!! Our Etsy Maine Team is having a SPRING show the last Saturday in May in Freeport, so I've decided to mix a few collectibles in with the jewelry. Mom will be there with her collectibles and such as well! I'll give you more details on the show the next time I post.
I've been loading up some vintage finds at Vintage Junque Revival! It's been kind of fun to go back through those collectibles for the first time in two years. I've actually researched some of the stuff, as I'm seeing new trends in collecting since I've been involved in the business.

Our Etsy Maine Team is having our next monthly meeting at Joselyn's groovy store front, The Blue Moose in lovely downtown Richmond this Sunday at noon time. If you are from Maine and an Etsy seller give us a shout and see what the team is all about!
